This past Friday I stayed home from work with a sore throat and stomach issues.
The timing was bad as this Sunday was the first time Sioux Falls hosts a marathon event.
So I didn't run, and honestly I didn't feel much like running another long run. I miss my training runs of length that I determine while running based on how my legs feel that day. In two weeks Omaha has a marathon, and although I really wanted to run it, right now I'm not so sure. There's always next year and right now, well, I just want to get back into my four - five days a week leisure running schedule.
I ran eight nice miles last night. The summer is ending and in two weeks I think I'll run a local 10K I ran last year. Last year, there was light snow on the ground and it was freezing outside. It's difficult to imagine that it was so cold a year ago this time of the season when I was running shirtless last night in the sun.
Good luck in your recovery, lack of consistent training and some bad luck can really kill a lot of plans.
ReplyDeleteI'm learning that!
ReplyDeleteI'm beginning to feel like I'm chasing the marathons and this latest ultra, but without mixing in training runs to keep my fitness where I want it.
Great, I was entertained by the post. I learn more things on it. Thanks!!!
